UNFPA's Safe Birth

"While I was running from the shelling in Syria, I was praying I would survive with my children and baby to come."

Kholoud was seven months pregnant when she crossed from Syria to Jordan with her husband and children to escape the violence.

She recently gave birth to Rania, a healthy baby girl, in a mobile clinic supported by UNFPA. A trained midwife helped her deliver five minutes after arriving at the clinic.

Maternal deaths hugely increase in disasters - but they can be prevented. Please share the good news of Rania's safe delivery to make the international community aware of the urgent needs of pregnant women in crises locations!

Girls in Afghanistan could not go to school

Before 2001, the overwhelming majority of girls in Afghanistan could not go to school. Today, there are over 3 million girls enrolled in schools across the country.

But every day, these girls face real threats of violence. In the past year, there were more than 185 documented attacks on schools and hospitals, mainly attributed to armed factions opposed to educating girls and women.
But girls in Afghanistan keep going to school.
Share this story from facebook if you're inspired by the bravery of these girls!
